Russian River Campground is a Forest Service campground near Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula, tucked between the Russian River and Kenai River. It's an excellent location for fishing, hiking, and exploring the Cooper Landing area, but we found it decidedly not big-fifth-wheel/big-rig friendly.

Kitwanga RV Park on the Cassier Hwy makes for a convenient, but bare-bones stop-over. The gas station down the road has excellent fry bread and loaves of bread.

Pinegrove Campground in McLure, British Columbia, is an affordable, shaded RV campground just outside Kamloops. We spent three nights beneath the campground’s beautiful tall trees with 50-amp power and water for approximately $106 USD. Despite some highway noise, intermittent Starlink coverage, and a temporary issue with the dump station, the excellent value, nearby outdoor recreation, and incredible hospitality from campground owner Cindy made this a place we would definitely visit again.
