Weber Q - the ultimate camp grill
I’ve never been a fan of Weber grills because of their comparatively high price point. However, I think I’ve been converted with the Weber Q 1200. Our current camper does not have an outdoor kitchen and cooking all your meals in a skillet or in the tiny oven in the camper gets tiring. My parents had an older Weber Q model when they lived full-time in their motorhome. We’re planning on moving into a motorhome full-time next spring/early summer, and I wanted a grill that was easy to clean, easy to transport, and had plenty of room for two people’s meals (preferably four meals for two people). I got a lime green Weber Q 1200 and LOVE it.
Pros:
Relatively inexpensive for how durable and sturdy it feels ($220)
Easy to assemble. All you have to do is screw the handle in, and attach the lid to the base. When we bought our large CharBroil grill, it took 2 hours to assemble. This took me 5 minutes…. and I’m challenged.
Easy to clean - this has a removable grease trap and it’s extremely easy to clean the grates and grill interior.
One small bottle of propane (1 pound) lasts ages! I have cooked several meals for myself and cooked food for 20 at a recent party. There’s still gas in the container.
Fold-up trays are convenient for storing your food.
Size and weight - this can be moved easily by one person. I’ve been carrying it all around and don’t find it cumbersome.
Cons:
The gas location is a bit inconvenient if you’re carrying this far distances.
